Q: We'll offset 10% of your home's energy carbon dioxide emissions - but what does that mean?
A:
For every home insurance policy we sell (in the first year only), we offset 10% of your home’s annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions* by providing LifeStraw water filters to families in Western Kenya. Providing these means there is no need to the boil water, cutting carbon emissions and protecting families from waterborne diseases like typhoid and cholera.
*Calculated from the average UK home emitting 4.8 tonnes of CO2, based on 2015 typical household energy consumption from Ofgem and 2015 DEFRA conversion factors.
